Hanging Canoe Club

Hazelhatch in County Dublin, Ireland is a remote hub of barges floating through a canal off of the River Liffey. The water has become an integral part of this community, one that attracts many swimmers and rowers to it, and one that therefore was in need of a building that would provide a rest stop for the active and a community center for the people living in the area and the ones that were visiting. The task at hand was to create a building that would connect the canal to the flat field and parking on the west end of the site, as well as serve the people of Hazelhatch by creating a centralised area for exercise, eating, socialising, and relaxing.
